Married Couple Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick to Star in Lunt and Fontanne Bio-Play Ten Chimneys

Real life couple Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick will star as legendary Broadway stage actors Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, respectively, in Jeffrey Hatcher’s new comedy Ten Chimneys. Helmed by Dan Wackerman, the Peccadillo Theater Company's off-Broadway production will begin performances September 21 at Theatre at St. Clement’s, with an official opening night on September 30.

Ten Chimneys takes a close look at the backstage lives of legendary Broadway stage stars Alfred Lunt (Jennings) and Lynn Fontanne (McCormick). Set on the couple’s Wisconsin estate in 1938, love triangles and family dysfunction reveal themselves when the rehearsal process for an upcoming production of Chekhov’s The Seagull becomes a true-to-life plot involving a young actress named Uta Hagen. In addition to Jennings and McCormick, the cast will feature Mariette Hartley as Lunt's mother Hattie, Michael McCarty as Sydney Greenstreet, as well as Charlotte Booker, Julia Bray and John Wernke.

Jennings has appeared on Broadway in Noises Off, Twelve Angry Men, Arcadia, The Invention of Love, Is He Dead?, Inherit the Wind, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Heartbreak House, The Merchant of Venice and Accent on Youth. His film and TV credits include White Collar, Kings, Damages, Quiz Show, The Ice Storm, A Time to Kill, Gossip Girl and Julie & Julia. McCormick is best known for playing Dr. Elizabeth Olivette on Law & Order. She has appeared on Broadway in The Dinner Party and Equus. McCormick’s additional film and TV credits include Star Trek: The Next Generation, Cold Case, Body of Proof, Whatever Works and Enemy Mine. Hartley appeared on Broadway in Cabaret. She earned an Emmy Award for the TV movie The Incredible Hulk. Her additional film and TV credits include One Life to Live, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Twilight Zone, Columbo, Marnie, Grey’s Anatomy and Peyton Place.

The Ten Chimneys creative team includes scenic and lighting designer Harry Feiner and costume designer Sam Fleming.
